Flight notes
After one final scenic flight around Lantau Island, it was time to leave Hong Kong behind and continue our journey toward Macau.
The weather was still far from perfect. Rain and poor visibility covered much of the route, but with manageable winds, we took the Vision Jet G2 out of Hong Kong International and headed across the water toward Macau.
Along the way, we passed Dong'ao Island before turning toward Macau International Airport.
As we followed the approach, the visibility became the real challenge. Runway 34 was somewhere ahead of us, but through the rain it remained completely hidden. With no runway in sight, we continued following the approach path toward the airport.
Only during the final stage did Runway 34 finally emerge through the weather. With the runway now visible, we continued down and landed safely at Macau International Airport, ending a rainy journey on Macau's distinctive runway built over the sea.
Rain and low visibility approach into Macau Runway 34 over the sea.
